We already know that of 1^st July the price of any size system will rise by $1240.00 due to the solar multiplier being reduced from 5 to 4, but there is also a likely change to the current fixed STC prices in April (which replaced the REC’s system 1^st Jan 2001), and very few people in the solar industry are predicting they will go up.

Any Solar PV Grid System installations not completed by March 31^st will be affected by changes the Government Regulator decides to make when they will relook at STC pricing next month, and after April 14^th any changes can be immediately implemented without further consultation. You may be aware that there were several rapid policy changes made to Solar Schemes & Rebates without notice in 2009 & 2010, and so our recommendation at Premier Solar is for consumers not to hesitate any longer if they were planning to purchase in the next 6 months.

Increased customer demand will necessarily see delivery times after purchase lengthen and if you wait till the last minute it is quite possible that your installation will not be completed in time……. Should STC prices be reduced to the level that REC’s were at last year then that will represent a price rise of $3000- $4000 on a small system, so delaying your decision could prove to be very costly.
