At Premier Solar Queensland we are concerned with how many reports we hear of consumers being unhappy because they have purchased a Solar PV Grid System from some other company that they were told would meet their families electricity requirements, but now they are still receiving electricity bills……..unfortunately there are a few solar companies giving the rest of us a bad name who will give inaccurate information to make a sale, by promising performance and output from small KW systems that simply can’t achieve that in any environment.

As a consumer you need to be well educated as to what your household electricity usage is and how that translates into being a set minimum requirement for the KW size needed for your new Solar PV Grid System for it to be able to produce that output even on cloudy days, so that you won’t need to be still purchasing some electricity from “the grid” to top up it’s shortfall….

The table below has been put together for your benefit by our Chief Technical Officer Michael Berris to allow you to quickly take your average quarterly electricity bill amount and move across to match it with the system size to deliver that matching output…..you may be surprised to see how big you need to go! Unfortunately when solar system prices are advertised on special it is always for very small KW sizes which are really quite inadequate for most situations……..so yes you may have to pay more initially then you were expecting, but your return on investment over the 20 year life of the system will be significantly higher!

When we quote we provide our customers with an accurate “Return on Investment” table which shows you how long it will take at current electricity prices for your system to completely pay for itself in electricity bill savings, currently this is roughly 5-7 years, and after that for another 15 years or so it is purely money in your pocket………. So yes solar power can definitely be an excellent financial investment, but only if you install the correct system to match your situation and requirements.
